Starbucks
This stop-motion animated film for Starbucks tells the story from coffee bean to coffee cup in reverse.
Beginning at the end, a story told in reverse
In 2013 we were asked by ad agency BBDO to direct, produce and animate this film that should explain basic knowledge and terms of the coffee production process.
We designed and built each location of the story with original Starbucks elements, like their paper cups and sugar bags. The maps in between are printed with real coffee stains, only we added them in post.
The film begins with the end: a freshly brewed Starbucks coffee cup that was made for you. The coffee cup then transforms into the counter of the coffeeshop where the story ends/begins.
